[Not that she needs defending from anything except how she's handled this whole scenario. She sighs.]
You know I'm terrible at this. The only relationships I had were with books, non-existent ones because the power imbalance would have made it inappropriate [aka, hot templars] and a couple of flings that went absolutely nowhere. [One because the mage didn't survive their Harrowing, one because they didn't survive their Joining. Inessa really knows how to pick 'em.]
[ She sighs, terribly loud and flopping around wherever she is laying. ]
Nessa this isn't some problem with an obvious solution. You're smart brain take do super smart things to get out of this one, you just have to go with how you feel and figure it out from there.
I...suppose you're right. It's just so foreign. All my life, I was taught to put everything else first, that relationships were not feasible for a Circle mage for multiple reasons...and then as a Grey Warden, it didn't seem likely or appropriate, either.
[They have short lives which are very much focused elsewhere. How doesn't that kill any chance of nurturing a relationship.]
...what do you think of him? [Ciri's approval is always important, even more so now.]
i am so sorry this is late, this was lost to gmail's spam bowels :(
Listen, Nessa. At some point within thirty years or so we're going to die. That isn't a maybe like some folk, that is our reality and Maker knows how that might get cut in half if this talking darkspawn from the dawn of time somehow starts another Blight.
[ maker, how depressing. ]
But... at least he gets that which makes things a little easier. Still, I'm just trying to say that we can't give up being normal too. We can't let all these old men be happy and ignore how we feel. [ hmm. ] I guess he's got nice hair?

He does, true. And Garahel loves him. [Also super important.]
Do you think we can be normal? Have what we want and...still do what we do? Though I suppose it's worth finding out, one way or another.

I think so. We've already gone against everything else the Wardens wanted us to do so far.

[A quiet huff.] Somehow, I think I can live with that if it means avoiding blood sacrifice and kneeling to a talking darkspawn.
